All teacher education candidates take part in early clinical experiences interacting with teachers and students in various schools in the area. The Office of School and Community Partnerships coordinates placement arrangements for these school experiences. Placements are arranged through the online registration program.

The Office of School & Community Partnerships has created resources for course instructors, candidates, and school partners to support in-person clinicals during the fall 2021 semester.  The resources and timeline can be found below:

  1. Candidates may begin signing up for in-person clinicals on Monday, September 6, 2021. The deadline to sign-up for an in-person clinical is Sunday, November 14, 2021. The portal to sign-up for clinicals will close at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, November 15, 2021

  2. OSCP has created email templates to support candidates with initiating contact with their school for clinicals. The email templates are here

  3. OSCP has also created a guide to support course instructors, students, and schools with the expectations for in-person clinicals. That guide is here

  4. A PowerPoint for course instructors to review in-person clinical processes and expectations is here

  5. Once active, the portal to sign-up for in-person clinicals is here

  6. The field experiences checklist that candidates will use in their clinicals is here. Candidates should ONLY engage in the activities outlined on the Virtual Clinical Checklist as these activities have been approved by school and district partners.

Clinical placements will only be arranged for the schools and districts within a 50 mile radius of UNC Charlotte. This includes the following school districts: Anson; Cabarrus; Charlotte-Mecklenburg; Cleveland; Gaston; Iredell-Statesville; Kannapolis; Lincoln; Mooresville: Rowan-Salisbury; Stanly; and Union.  Students requesting placement outside of the districts listed above should arrange their own clinical placement and complete this form to report the placement to OSCP.
